web2linux wiki

January 18, 2006

Here is a link to a wiki that I am putting together.  http://web2linux.pbwiki.com/

Each site will be rated based on the following criteria:

1) Is the website up to standards and rendering correctly in Firefox?
If it does then a Firefox icon will appear next to the website logo.
2) Is the application based on OpenSource software? If yes then an OpenSource icon will appear next to the website logo.
3) Is the application free?

4) If the website/application is only accessable through MS Internet
Explorer, this will be noted with a big red “X”. Boooo!!! Shame!

The Museum of Modern Betas

January 18, 2006

Recently I stumbled across a website that is doing a great job of listing all of the new websites as they make their debuts. The Museum of Modern Betas or MoMB exemplifies simplicity in the design of the website, but it’s truly an elegant way of making a presentation.

Here is a link to the website: http://momb.socio-kybernetics.net/

This is just a beginning list, I will continue to add links as I find them. If you would like to add to the list please comment and I’ll update what’s posted. Additionally, I will be adding comments as to how each company is making efforts to reach out to the Linux community.
